  HUNTING HEAVEN  
  Chow Chows have been bred to hunt for many thousands of years. Hunting is their strongest, most basic, instinct. (More about their Guarding instincts later!)

Traditionally Chow Chows have most often been used to hunt small mammals and ground birds, although they are also frighteningly expert at bringing down horses and disembowelling sheep. In hunting they are multi-talented generalists - tracking, pointing, flushing, chasing, holding, executing and even retrieving.
